ISIS

Discography (labels) from the 80s

Album dal titolo “Isis” registrato nei giorni 9 & 11 febbraio del 1980 presso gli Studi Emmequattro di Roma e pubblicato dall’etichetta Soul Note.

Together with the leader Enrico Pieranunzi, three important exponents of Italian jazz are present in quartet and quintet: the double bass player Furio Di Castri, drummer Roberto Gatto, saxophonist Massimo Urbani and, as a guest, the American trumpeter Art Farmer. Each of the five instrumentalists contributes with their personal language to determine the chorality of a discographic work with a strong be-bop accent, between standards and original compositions by the pianist.

In 1982 the album won the prize as "Jazz Italiano Best Record of the Year“Announced by the Italian record critics.

by double bass player Bruno Tommaso
