The double disc contains a selection of songs performed live in April 2001 by the trio formed by Enrico Pieranunzi, the Danish double bassist Hein Van de Geyn and the French drummer André Ceccarelli at the Parisian jazz club The Duke of the Lombards. The repertoire is mainly made up of jazz standards with the addition of three pieces by the Italian pianist: Hindsight, One Lone Star and A small golden key. The album was included among the 1001 essential recordings of the history of jazz by Penguin Jazz Guide: The History of the Music in 1001 Best Albums by Richard Cook and Brian Morton. Furthermore, the prestigious American magazine Down Beat included the album “Live in Paris” among the best CDs of the 2000/2010 decade.
