New & Old Jazz Sound was conceived in the mid-seventies as a record of "soundtrack" for radio, TV and other contexts. On side A (New Jazz) there are experimental pieces from the first trio of Enrico Pieranunzi, on side B (Old Jazz) instead there are songs in Dixieland style, composed and arranged by the pianist and his father Alvaro Pieranunzi.
The entire material recorded on analogue support was digitized and restored by the sound engineers of the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome under the supervision of Paolo Marra, curator of the Jazz Archive in Rome.
