Guitarist Pat Metheny performs at 9.00 pm on August 3, 1988 at the Saint Louis in Rome solo and accompanied by the rhythm section formed by double bass player Steve Rodby and drummer Paul Wertico. For the occasion, the American guitarist performs songs from the album "Still Life (Talking)”, which had been published in July of the previous year, and other compositions, including "And I Love Herby the Beatles. On the same day Pat Metheny had participated in the RAI studios in Via Teulada in the DOC program, conducted by Renzo Arbore and Gegè Telesforo.
The tape containing Pat Metheny's concert at the Saint Louis in Rome was shared by the journalist and writer Marco Molendini. The entire material recorded on analogue support was digitized and restored by the sound engineers of the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome under the supervision of Paolo Marra, curator of the Jazz Archive in Rome.
