Silence – Charlie Haden

Discography (labels) from the 80s

Album titled "Silence” by the American double bass player and composer Charlie Haden. The album was recorded on 11 and 12 November 1987 at the CMC Studio in Rome and published in 1989 by the label Soul Note

Charlie Haden: double bass / Chet Baker: trumpet / Enrico Pieranunzi: piano / Billy Higgins: drums

Due to the poor health of Chet Baker, a few takes of the songs on the disc are made during a single day of recording. The pianist Enrico Pieranunzi transcribes for Baker the trumpet solo present in the song "Silence", for his part the trumpeter, at the end of the recording sessions, leaves on the piano a heartfelt dedication of thanks to his friend and colleague (second photo).
