
Sound Engineering Department, established in 2002, is dedicated to training professional sound engineers for live performances, recording studios, film and TV editing studios, and audio-video post-production studios. It was the first department in Italy authorized by MIUR for first- and second Clycle of Academic courses.

The Sound Engineer department is dedicated to form professionals that will allow them to get access to great opportunities in the world of work.
The foundation (pre-academic) course in Sound Engineering and Electronic Music covers a one-year study path for the preparation, which is a considerably important track, to access the first cycle academic courses of Sound Engineering and Electronic Music Composition.
The pre-academic course holds a free access , there are no admission tests, the duration is one academic year, at the end of which the academic courses of Sound Engineer or Electronic Music are accessible by examination.
STUDY PLAN AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Access to the pre-academic course of Sound Engineering and Electronic Music without audition
Bachelor course in sound engineering, a wealth of experience and complete cutting-edge skills for the training of sound engineers, sound designers and programmers, for professionals capable to work in recording studios and also in live contexts, deal with analog systems and in digital environments (Pro-Tools Hd), experiencing real sessions of recording, mixing and recording production.
During the practice labs in the studio, small groups and individually work on microphone recording techniques, signal manipulation, editing, use of the outboard, mix and post-production, both on analogue desks and in entirely digital terrain.
Avid Pro Tools certifications are included in the study track.
STUDY PLAN AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Academic course with limited students number course: a maximum of 40 students
Specialization study path for Sound Engineering for recording studio (Mix & Mastering) or Live Sound Engineering (Live Sound) or Music Production.
The graduates in Sound Engineering are entitled to access the two-year second cycle academic diploma courses listed above. Graduates in other disciplines who have previous experience in sound engineering can access after an admission test.
Real production and mixing recording sessions, professional use of plug-ins and outboards. The specific skills will go as far as mastering techniques, made with both hardware and software media and hybrids. Each student also acquires mastery of the acousticization techniques of the environments for production purposes and professional skills to manage the entire production cycle from microphoneing, recording, mixing and mastering.
Specialization path that takes the student to look through the vision of a Music Producer. Each students will develop skills to manage music production projects at all stages of development. from creative writing, through arrangement and pre-production with real and virtual instruments, executive production, recording sessions, mixing and mastering, working on their own and on behalf of external help. Each student is educated to acquire full knowledge of the historical evolution of music production and also the techniques for making products for the record industry and media.
