Jazz saxophone, 2nd cycle Academic diploma (Master level)
The 2nd cycle Jazz courses are customized around each student, for the deepening of contemporary and experimental styles and languages and the development of one's own artistic personality with one-on-one jazz Sax teachers. Ensembles aimed at both recording and concert artistic productions, in collaboration with internationally renowned jazz musicians, aiming to a subsequent insertion into the job market.

It is a limited students number course, open to a maximum of 5 students per year, coming from Saint Louis 1st Cycle Academic courses or selected through audition.
Path entirely oriented to the instrumental practice of Jazz in small, medium and large ensembles, with internationally renowned jazz musicians guests in the bands, both in concerts and in recording productions. Each postgraduate student will graduate having released his/her own original recording, distributed on streaming platforms.
Jazz saxophone
A total of 70 hours of one-on-one classes, with one or more teachers per year, chosen by the student, for personalized stylistic specialization.
Jazz improvisation
Evolution of the jazz language in a contemporary key with the leaders of Italian jazz such as Ramberto Ciammarughi, Enrico Pieranunzi, Rosario Giuliani, Maurizio Giammarco, Umberto Fiorentino.
Professional Jazz Ensemble
Concerts at Festivals and Theaters with guest soloists of national and international repute, with rehearsals concentrated in 3-4 consecutive days. In recent years Paolo Fresu, Aaron Parks, Kurt Elling, Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto, Rosario Giuliani, Fabrizio Bosso, Vince Mendoza have been special guests.
Jazz composition
Creative artisan workshop aimed at the composition, processing and arrangement of original concert and recording productions for medium and large formations
Recording production
Each trainee will have the recording studio to produce his/her own original art project, in collaboration with the postgraduates of vocal and electronic music courses and led by an artistic producer of the Jazz Collection label.
The 2nd Cycle academic path includes two types of ensembles every year, a permanent ensemble that rehearses all year round and holds concerts in clubs in Rome with the teacher as part of the band and a great line-up that concentrates rehearsals in one or two full-immersion weeks for concerts in Theaters and recording productions with international guests.
Special Guest Jazz Ensemble
Rehearsals concentrated in 3-4 consecutive days and subsequent concert with international artists. In recent years, the two-year postgraduate students have performed alongside Aaron Parks, Gegè Telesforo, Greg Hutchinson, Tollak, Roberto Gatto, Rosario Giuliani, Peppe Servillo, Vince Mendoza, Paolo Fresu, Javier Girotto, Frabizio Bosso, Gianluca Petrella.
Professional Jazz Ensemble
High profile ensemble, highly demanding repertoires, interplay and improvisation, fortnightly meetings with Rosario Giuliani, Ramberto Ciammarughi, Gegè Telesforo, Javier Girotto, Dario Deidda, Fabrizio Sferra, Paolo Damiani, Amedeo Tommasi, Maurizio Giammarco, Vincenzo Presta, Natalio Mangalavite, Roberto Tarenzi.

Since 2012 Saint Louis has participated in the Erasmus + program, which offers the possibility to every student of Academic level to live periods of mobility in other European and Extra-European Higher Education Institutes for study or internship projects.
Each student can therefore benefit of a maximum of 12 months of study or internship abroad for each study cycle (12 months max in the three-year first cycle, 12 months max in the two-year second cycle of academic studies), choosing one's destination among a wide and excellent offer of foreign partners that Saint Louis has established and consolidated over time.
SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS
European Jazz Contest, Italian Jazz on the Road, Italian Jazz C.R.E.A”, Minus One – Italian Jazz on the Road to… Tbilisi, Body Sound DiVision
Mandatory attendance to the minimum extent of the 80% of the lessons. Classes run fortnightly and are concentrated in 2-3 consecutive days.
ORDINARY ATTENDANCE
Lessons/Lectures every fifteen days held in two consecutive days
PART-TIME ATTENDANCE
The student will be able to choose which and how many subjects to attend each year, scheduled with fortnightly cadence. The part-time frequency involves an extension of the study path, which will therefore have a duration over two years according to the student's needs.
REQUIREMENTS: 1st Cycle three-year academic diploma already achieved or to be achieved by the February session (registration with reservation)

2. Realize the video clips for the pre-selection
Record one or more videos containing 3 songs, performed by you in a group (minimum trio) that are representative of your artistic activity. The files must be uploaded to YouTube or other similar web portals and indicated as a link on the application form.
3. Fill in the application webform and insert the links to the video clips
It is possible to submit an application form for the participation at the admission test to first and second cycle academic courses from the 3rd of February to 30th of April. Subsequent applications will only be considered on the basis of the remaining places available.
4. Wait for pre-selection results
Candidates who pass the pre-selection will be admitted to the admission tests, which will take place in June and September. International candidates can sit the admission tests earlier, from March until June.
5. Sit the admission tests
Admission tests are held in two consecutive days.
In these insights "Due di Due" (Two of Two), which we strongly wanted for the post-graduate students in jazz that are following the study track of the two-year academic specialization courses, the art of the duo becomes a generational confrontation between experienced professionals of international stature and very young talented musicians who have accepted the challenge with extraordinary enthusiasm.
