Roberto Giglio

Roberto Giglio cantatutore, arranger e produttore romano, collabora con molti artisti, spaziando tra musica pop, jazz e teatro (Patty Pravo, Sergio Cammariere, Gigi Proietti, Rodolfo Laganà, Greg, Alan Sorrenti, Enrico Pieranunzi, Saturnino, Simone Cristicchi) e partecipa ad eventi di rilevanza nazionale e trasmissioni televisive (Festival di Sanremo, Concerto del Primo Maggio , “Parla con me” ospite di Serena Dandini).

From 2001 to 2002 he was artistic director for the singer Patty Pravo, for which he produced the album "Radio Station", following his participation in the 2002 Sanremo Festival, with the song "L’immenso".

As part of the recordings of the album, in Brazil, he coordinated international musicians in the studio including Jaques Morelenbaum and Arthur Maia, and collaborated also with the percussionist and artistic producer Marcelo Costa.

In 2003 he participated in the Sanremo Festival as a singer-songwriter, with the song "Cento Cose" (15 thousand copies sold of the single and track on the charts at "Top of the Pops") and the following Disco per l'estate (Disco for the summer).

In 2004 he released his first official album, "Sei in ascolto", distributed by Universal. In 2007, feltrinelli/Ricordi Media Stores released his album, "La quinta stagione", in which prestigious jazz and pop musicians are hosted, including pianist Enrico Pieranunzi and Saturnino.

In 2009 he was the only Italian singer-songwriter invited to play at the Barcelona Jazz Festival, scheduled with Wayne Shorter, Brad Meldhau, Cassandra Wilson, Kings of Convenience and Chick Corea.

Since 2009 he has started a fundamental collaboration with Gigi Proietti, for whom he wrote several songs included in Proietti's shows, including "Di nuovo buonasera … a tutti", awarded by the public with two months of sold out at the Sistina Theatre in Rome.

In June 2012 he released, with Carosello, the album "Cinecittà", a work of unpublished songs about the city of Rome. The recording project uses two duets with Gigi Proietti and Greg, and the participation at the piano of Sergio Cammariere and Flavio Boltro on trumpet, officially presented in 2013 at the Sala Petrassi of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.

He is the author and composer of the songs and music of "Campo de' fiori", the musical comedy by and with Rodolfo Laganà, staged at the Sistina Theatre in Rome in 2012.

In 2013, he made the original music for Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", directed by Gigi Proietti, performed at the Globe Theatre in Rome, in 2015, 2016 and 2019.

In 2013, Gigi Proietti, as part of the two evenings in Caracalla, organized by the Teatro dell'Opera, performed the song "San Lorenzo", contained in the unreleased album "Cinecittà".

In 2014, he wrote the songs and music of the show "Nudo Proprietario", by Rodolfo Laganà, also in theaters in the 2015/2016 season.

In 2016 he released the album "Misofonia", a work of unpublished songs with Fabrizio Bosso and Carlotta Proietti guested in two songs. The work was presented at the Teatro Studio of the Auditorium parco della Musica in Rome, guesting Max Tortora.

In 2017 he was the screenwriter and director of the medium-film "Playback – Il caso Malien", of which he also composed the music. The mockumentary contemplated the participation of many famous names, each in the role of themselves, (Daniele Silvestri, Renzo Arbore, Giancarlo Magalli, Patty Pravo, Giulio Golia, Greg, Gigi Proietti, Simone Cristicchi, etc.) and was purchased by Rai.

In 2019 he wrote the subject, screenplay and music of the short film "Il gioco", directed by Alessandro Haber and with Vinicio Marchioni as the protagonist.
