Inuit drum singing – Nuka Alice Lund Masterclass

What is Inuit drum singing? The masterclass by Nuka ALice Lund, chorister of Bjork on the world tour "Vespertine”, is a brief introduction to Inuit drum chant to learn about its history and basic concepts.

Inuit drum singing and dancing follow a different path than Western technique-based music. This is about surrendering to the song and following the rhythm of one's heart.
During the masterclass Nuka Alice, an Inuk drum dancer, will focus on drum singing, sharing some traditional songs, particularly "Umahaja-Sunaaffali" promoting the return of drum singing to the west coast of Greenland.
