Producing "In The Box" music

Event details

Workshop in collaboration with Midiware with demonstration of an “In The Box” session for the production and mixing of a song.

Producing music "In The Box": This term generally indicates musical production made exclusively within a computer. This is a common situation both for those arriving in the world of music production and for many professionals.

At one time the approach to this profession was gradual and the apprenticeship in the studio and in the rehearsal room was the norm, but today it is increasingly common to start at home in your room in front of a computer.

Similarly, to record demos of a commissioned jingle it was necessary to hire a session player, but today there are many virtual instrument that allow composers to write music in the box and have their musical ideas heard with more flexibility without sacrificing listening quality. Knowing the right tools is essential to become a professional.

For this the Saint Louis College of Music, in collaboration with MidiWare, decided to dedicate a morning to demonstrating the setting up of an "In The Box" session for the production and mixing of a song.

For musical writing the protagonists will be the plugins Toontrack and UJAM, two software houses that produce virtual instruments of the highest quality.

For mixing, the mastering and the definition of the song will be featured by the plugins of iZotope. The software house, famous for software such as RX 7, Neutron 3 and Ozone 9, is at the center of the attention of modern producers for its innovative approach to producing music "In The Box" thanks to "assistive audio" technologies based on the machine learning.

The software will be demonstrated by Alessandro Bizzarri, product specialist and manager of MidiWare Store.
