ADMISSION OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

On this page you will find information on the admission of international students to ACADEMIC COURSES (Bachelor's or Master's level) and to FOUNDATION COURSES (Pre-academic).
To enrol in other non-academic courses (e.g. Junior Courses, Personalized Courses, etc.) please contact our International Office.

EU citizens with a European Health Insurance Card (in Italy called TEAM Card) can enjoy free medical services in Italy and in all Countries of the European Union. The card, which must be physically carried and must have a deadline subsequent to the planned departure date from Italy, allows free access to the general practitioner, hospital facilities and emergency services (including surgical services). For certain exams or specialist visits, a ticket is required.

Non-EU citizens must have a valid health insurance before arriving in Italy. The insurance is in fact requested by the Consulate/Embassy that issues the visa and must be approved by them for the purpose of obtaining the entry visa into Italy.

The insurance can be private (recommended for students entering Italy for the first time) or it can be the Italian public one, offered by the National Health Service (NHS), at a fee of €149.77 per calendar year. The registration fee is paid through the postal bulletin in the name of: "Administration P.T. – contribution National Health Service", C/C number 370007", entering the reason "Voluntary registration with the National Health Service". Once the payment has been made, you can register with the nearest ASL by submitting the following documents:
– Certificate of residence (or self-certification)
- Valid identity card/passport
- Codice Fiscale
– Certificate of enrollment at Saint Louis (or self-certification)
Download the Registration guide to the National Health Service for non-EU citizens

The reference structures, for assistance, registration and activation of health coverage, are in any case the ASL (Aziende Sanitarie Locali - Local Health Companies), to be chosen according to your address in the city.

Facilities and services specifically dedicated to foreign citizens are also available:
Presidio Nuovo Regina Margherita
For tourists and foreigners in urgent need of medical assistance
Via Emilio Morosini, 30
