Erasmus+ OUTGOING beyond Europe

TheInternational Credit Mobility is one of the great innovations introduced by the Erasmus+ Program in order to promote the mobility of students, teachers and technical-administrative staff between EU and non-EU countries.

After having successfully consolidated the project among the countries of the European Union, Saint Louis College of Music arrives at this new possibility of exchange and growth by launching, starting from the Academic Year 2017/2018, two biennial collaboration projects, now concluded, with the Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Georgia) and the Faculty of Arts, Universiteti i Prishtines (Kosovo), an exchange that allowed the mobility of:

  • the staff and teachers from Saint Louis to Georgia and Kosovo and vice versa
  • the students from Georgia and Kosovo to Saint Louis

Tblisi – Georgia

The Exchange Program between Saint Louis and Tbilisi State Conservatory focused on the Departments of: Jazz, Sound Engineering and Electronic Music Composition.
The Project, inaugurated in September 2017, had a Two-Year duration – scheduled end in September 2019 – it carried out outgoing mobility of the teaching and administrative staff of Saint Louis, and the incoming mobility of students, administrative staff and teacher of the Tbilisi Conservatory.
For the 2nd year of the Project, thanks to the similarities and complementarities found between the two Institutes, as well as the strong affinity, Saint Louis has involved the TSC in an expansion of the mobility provided by the Erasmus program, giving the opportunity to realize, in Tbilisi, a 3-day Jazz Festival in which Italian formations were completed by a local musician: Minus One

Founded in 1969, it is divided into 17 Faculties, including the Faculty of Arts which offers Courses in Visual Arts, Music and Dramatic Arts.

Pristina – Kosovo

The Exchange Project with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Pristina has been activated starting from the academic year 2018/2019, realizing for 1 full year outgoing mobility of the teaching and administrative staff of Saint Louis, and the incoming mobility of students, administrative staff and teacher of the Kosovar Institute. The Departments involved: Jazz (incoming and outgoing), Classical and Folk (from Kosovo to Italy). The project had as its ultimate goal the encouragement of the establishment of a dedicated department of Jazz within the Faculty of Arts of Pristina, which provides only a few modules dedicated to this musical genre, in consideration of the absence of jazz educational centers in the entire region of Kosovo.
