ADMISSION OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Studying at Saint Louis. On this page you will find information on the admission of international students to ACADEMIC (Bachelor or Master level) and PRE-ACADEMIC COURSES.
PRE-ACADEMIC COURSES:
EU or NON-EU citizens in possession of a secondary school diploma (or equivalent), obtained in Italy or in their country of origin. Pre-academic courses are valid for the purpose of compensating for the total years of study required to be able to attend 1st cycle Academic courses. Enrollment in pre-academic courses for non-European students is possible as they are preparatory courses (Foundation Courses) for subsequent inclusion in Academic level courses.
1st Cycle ACADEMIC COURSES:
EU or NON-EU citizens holding the Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent), obtained in Italy or in their Country of origin. It is also necessary to demonstrate that you have a minimum of 12 total years of schooling.
2nd Cycle ACADEMIC COURSES:
EU or NON-EU citizens in possession of a University Degree or 1st cycle Academic Diploma (or equivalent), obtained in Italy or in their Country of origin. It is also necessary to demonstrate that you have a minimum of 15 total years of schooling.
NB: Students who submit the certification of their foreign qualifications to enter the 1st and 2nd cycle Academic courses of Saint Louis, must submit the original version of the Title (scanned copy), accompanied by a certified translation and the DOV (Declaration of Value). The DOV is a document that certifies the validity of the title and admissibility to academic and university level courses, and is issued by the Italian diplomatic missions abroad (embassies or consulates).
Studying at Saint Louis for international students from countries outside the EU, the methods, deadlines and regulations for being able to apply for access to academic courses at Saint Louis are established by the Italian Ministry of Education . For more information on this, visit: Studying in Italy
Updates to the enrollment procedures are usually published in May for enrollment in the following academic year (starting in September).
Non-EU students must simultaneously follow a double enrollment procedure:
- official pre-registration must be made through Italian Diplomatic Representations Abroad (Italian Embassy / Consulate) of your country of origin. It is therefore necessary to contact the Italian embassy or consulate closest to your city to obtain all the information in this regard and to start your pre-registration procedure, which is mainly aimed at issuing the Visa for study purposes (D type). The procedures for issuing the visa can be very long, and require the preparation of many documents by the applicant student. It is therefore advisable to start these procedures no later than January/February in order to arrive in Italy in September for the start of the courses. Official pre-registrations normally close every year in July and do not allow delays.
- At the same time, starting from January 1st, each student will have to follow the Saint Louis enrollment procedure, following the same Admission steps (sending the admission or enrollment request form, pre-selection, practical Admission tests, etc.) provided for all other students for the purpose of assessing the entry level in the subjects included in the chosen Course. These procedures can be consulted within the "Didactics" section, entering the course of the desired Department and level.
NB: starting from enrollments for the academic year 2021/22, the official pre-registrations made through Italian Diplomatic Representations Abroad will take place through the Portal Universitaly. This is a new procedure for Higher Artistic Institutes such as Saint Louis and the related guidelines will be available starting from May 2021.
