ITALIAN JAZZ C.R.E.A (Composition Research – Europe and America) is the new project designed and implemented by Saint Louis College of Music of Rome entirely dedicated to the research and innovation in the jazz composition context.
Born as spin-off of the Italian jazz on the road project, it widens its communication potential, in order to spread worldwide an original and experimental project completely focused on Italian jazz.
International Partners of the project are two of the most relevant International Music High Education institutes, one being based in Europe – Conservatorio Superior de Musica de Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) – and one in the USA – University of North Texas. IJ CREA also avails itself of the partnership of Italian prestigious music venues such as Auditorium Parco della musica di Roma, Teatro Eliseo di Roma, hosting the concerts of the project itself and granting great visibility to it.
Thanks to this ambitious project, also sustained by the Italian Ministry for Culture (MiBact), Saint Louis reaches the goal of exporting to Europe and America the original creations of 8 talented young Italian composers. Their works, performed in Italy by Saint Louis Big Band, will be performed abroad by the resident Big Bands of the Navarra Conservatory – under guidance of M° Inaki Askunze – and of the University of North Texas – under guidance of M° Richard De Rosa.
