Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Bio

He is considered one of the stars of world jazz. He garnered 15 Grammy Award nominations and won - with Jay Newland and Charlie Haden producing - as Best Latin Jazz Album as with "Nocturne" (2002). He has collaborated with the greatest jazz players in the world: (from Dizzy Gillespie to Herbie Hancock, from Richard Galliano to Ron Carter, just to name a few.

His projects, in solo piano and in bands, move both in the jazz world and in classical music. His artistic repertoire has never stopped evolving, touching Afro-Cuban sounds, traditional Cuban and Mexican ballads, boleros and Cuban classical works.
He has always challenged traditional musical classifications to transform the daily routine into beauty with his music. Downbeat wrote that Rubalcaba has the ability to make the very complicated simple.

Since 2010 Rubalcaba has been producing and recording for his record label and production company, 5Passion LLC.
