“Giorgia Mileto” Scholarship - 2021 edition

In memory of Giorgia Mileto, Saint Louis College of Music promotes for the second year the Call for the award of Scholarships to attend the first and second cycle of academic courses of the Departments of Jazz & Popular Music.

Saint Louis Giorgia Mileto Award allows talented young musicians, in the field of Jazz and Popular Music, to attend the first and second level pre-academic and academic courses of Saint Louis College of Music with important discounts on the quota ranging from 40% up to 100% of the annual fee, considering an annual value, for each awarded, between 2,000 and 4,500 euros.

All musicians who haven't turned 28 years old within the 10th of June, 2021, can participate in the Giorgia Mileto Prize.

The prize will be divided into two categories:

Ordinary (Weekly), considered for all musicians who range between 28 (and not older) and 17 (and not younger) years old within the 10th of June 2021.

Under 18, considered to all musicians who will not yet turn 18 within the 10th June 2021.

Scholarships will be awarded through open auditions to all musicians: instrumentalists and singers of the Jazz & Popular Music Departments.

To access the auditions, the applicant has to send an audio and/or video recording (preferably) of two songs played in groups (duo, trio, quartet, etc.). Based on the material received, a pre-selection of students admitted to the hearing will be carried out.

The auditions will be held in September with a resident band / orchestra which will support all the applicants.

Saint Louis, which does not benefit from public grants for its institutional activities, for the 2021 edition of the Giorgia Mileto Award makes available a fund of € 20,000 of own resources.

Pre-selections

Fill in within the 15th of July 2021 the form-online ("Send Application" button on the right, below the image) indicating at least 3 links to your audio and/or audio-video performances. On the basis of the material received, the Commission will select the candidates for subsequent hearings.

Deadlines for submitting the application: from 10 June to 15 July 2021
Results of the Pre-selections: within August 31rst, 2021
Auditions for scholarship assignment: September 2021 (date and location to be defined)

Hearings/Auditions

They will take place, in a live performance, in September, with a repertoire chosen by the applicant. The Commission may assign one or more obligatory pieces.
