BargaJazz Festival crowns Luca Prost

The talented musician from Gaeta wins with the song Anos Dourados

In the general positive balance for the jazz festival which takes place in Barga (LU) and which carries the name of the small but evocative center of Garfagnana to the world, to the sound of jazz, there was the award ceremony of Luca Prost, jazz musician from Gaeta, who won the competition in section A 'Arrangement' with the song Anos Dourados.
In the final, held on Saturday evening in the splendid setting of VillaMoorings, for the BargaJazz Festival 2023, As per tradition, the arrangements of the author's songs were performed for the international arrangement and composition competition for jazz orchestra, this year dedicated to the music of Antônio Carlos Jobim.
Exceptional soloist this year is the famous Brazilian musician Hamilton in the Netherlands who performed together with the
Barga Jazz Orchestra directed by Maestro Mario Raja.
The young Gaetano musician who won the evening graduated in jazz piano under the guidance of Maestro Stefano Sabatini. Currently, he follows the two-year period of composition and arrangement under the guidance of the Masters Antonio Solimene and Michele Corcella, at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, an institution of high artistic training in the musical field in Italy approved by MUR.
Bargajazz is an event born in 1986 from an idea by Giancarlo Rizzardi and Bruno Tommaso as an arrangement and composition competition for jazz orchestra.
The annual musical event pursues the primary objective of giving young composers and arrangers the opportunity to have their works performed by a professional orchestra and stimulate production.
Over the years Bargajazz has become an important stage in the careers of many professionals of jazz writing for orchestra at a European level. The fixed protagonist of the festival has always been the BargaJazz Orchestra initially directed by Bruno Tommaso and in recent years by Mario Raja.
